So Now, What?

By now you should have articulated a clear career choice for your future. Remember that career assessment tests are tools which you can use to help you narrow down your choices as far as a career choice. Also along with that you can use the U.S. governments Occupational Outlook Handbook online. This valuable resource allows you to compare many different careers A-Z.  As a young person, just how you occupy your time in your teen years can also accelerate your career goals or slow them down, just the same as the choices in life one makes each day can. Make sure you always make choices which will benefit you and your loved ones, great choices which will allow you to bring whatever you desire into your life! Soon we shall be entering teachings of the heart, family, romantic love, and marriage, which I know some of you guys are longing to discover the truth about.

Until the next post, Que Viva El Amor! (Long Live Love!)

Note: Some of the teachings upon family and love will also be found in my blog (Teachings of a Chicano) which can be accessed through the links section on this blog.

Which job or career is right for you?

The job or career that you choose in life is very important. It is important first of all, because that is how for the most part you will choose to earn your money in the world. Let’s say for example you choose to be a dishwasher, working in a restaurant washing dishes can be pretty hard work. Also the pay is on the lower end of the pay scale employment wise. Now let’s say you decide to be a carpenter, this type of job can become a career and generally pays very well if you are a skilled carpenter because it is considered a trade. Now for a final example, let’s take a look at a profession. For example, a lawyer usually makes an excellent amount of money. Now what is the difference between all three?

Now, the dishwasher job requires basically little training to get into and pays on the lower end of the pay scale, also many of these types of jobs exist and are called unskilled low wage jobs. The carpenter job on the other hand is called a professional trade job, and it demands a much higher range of pay, it also requires school or on the job training to master.  Finally, the Attorney job is considered a white collar professional job and also demands a much higher range of pay and requires a high range of education.

With this said, the main thing I want you to remember is this, there are low skilled low wage jobs, higher paying jobs and top paying jobs. Now, the way you find out what you want to is to ask yourself the following question. What do I want in a job or career for my life? You really need to think long and hard about this, because the choice(s) you make in a job or career will determine not only your future financial earnings but also your future job security as well as career satisfaction.

So just how do you decide what job or career is best for you? First of all you have to find out just where your career aptitude lies. You can do this by taking career aptitude tests in High School or in a community College. Secondly, once you have an idea of what job or career(s) you may be suited for then you need to make three choices. By the way, these three choices may well change as you fine tune your career choices in the future. Then we need to find a good job and career resource guide, and it just so happens that the U.S. Government has a great one. Search online, or go to any  public library and  ask for the “Occupational Outlook Handbook” by the U.S. Government. In it you will find all the careers in the U.S.A., along with their educational or training requirements, pay scales, and other relevant information such as whether the career will be in demand in the future or not, etc. This is a very valuable resource, so please check it out a.s.a.p. if you are serious about getting yourself a great career, or you may ask for the hardcopy version at any public library.

Important Note: If you do not reside in the U.S.A. you can still use this great career resource guide as most careers are basically the same throughout the world, except for pay scales.

Career

Is money evil? Not really, you will need it as you work your way through life. Also, is it good to have just a little bit of money or a lot? As far as how much money you will earn in your life? It is totally up to you! No one can tell you what kind of job or career to choose, however in life your job or career will translate directly into how much money you will earn in life. This will only change, if and when you decide to change jobs or change careers!

You would be surprised to know just how many people in the world, everyday go to their job almost without thinking about what they are doing. It has become for many people almost like a ritual which one must follow. However, shouldn’t we consider just how much money we earn at whatever job we engage ourselves in at present as well as the job satisfaction we need? We have to stop choosing our jobs subconsciously, and start paying attention to them as being “the vehicle which gives us the supply of money we need in the world to succeed and fulfill our desire for success!”

Here is an exercise for you to do. I want you guys to take a blank sheet of paper and write down which jobs or careers in your life do you consider the worst paying and which ones the best paying jobs or careers you have worked in . Make the list expansive, from common laborer to rocket scientist. Try to look at as many jobs and careers as you can but write your list from the lowest paying jobs or careers you have worked in to the highest paying ones. After you do this, take a look at what level your average job or career income has been on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, yearly basis. Now multiply your average earnings per year against forty, because most people work about forty years or so, how much money did you earn over that amount of time?

Note: The goal of this exercise is to recognize the subconscious illusion of “a job is just a job and a career is just a career, because not all jobs or careers are equal or pay the same amount of money!

Recap: Keye's to Success blog first six posts

Recap: Keyes to Success blog first six posts

In the Bus Ride Post, we have saw how a young person changed the road he was heading down by acquiring important information which he then used to change his life for the better.

In the Post what this Blog will do for you, we learned that each human being is a very important part of the universe. We also learned that the universe loves you and wants you to succeed in life and be happy. Furthermore, we learned that you can stand by and wish all you want, but that this in itself will not get you anywhere. Why? Because to achieve total success in life takes learning plus taking action! Do not underestimate the power in these teachings. If you learn these simple principles, you will become extremely successful.

In Truth or Betrayal, we learned something very simple, yet very powerful. The power of making the “right choices” is probably the most important part of making your life a “total success”.

In what it takes to achieve success in life, we learned that too many of us live in a dream state where we do not really know exactly what it is that we want to achieve in life. Also we learned the importance of having goals, making plans and sticking it out until we achieve that particular dream or goal that we wanted so dearly. We also learned that the power to achieve success is already within you!

In be careful what you wish for, we learned that one has to make sure that what you want “is really what you want to achieve,” before you get it!

In, to achieve success you must first know yourself, we learned that everyone has different likes and dislikes, and that to succeed in life we must learn as much about ourselves as possible in order to avoid all the things we don’t want and maximize and attract to us all the things, people etc., that we do want in our lives.

To achieve success you must first know yourself

To achieve success in life, one must first know oneself. Have you ever noticed, that the most successful and happy persons are the ones who know what they want out of life. On the other hand, if you take a look at the majority of people whose lives are not going anywhere, and the question begs to be answered, as to why?

In life it is important to know ones likes and dislikes, in everything! From the food we eat, to the career we choose. Why? Because how would you like to do a job which you hated all of your life? Or be stuck in a relationship that is dead and not working out? The trick to achieving success in life is to think about what you want to have in any area of life you decide to succeed in, before you take a step that one day you may regret!

Life is not hard if we make the right choices for ourselves, but those choices are personal and must match up with whatever it is we want to achieve for ourselves in life. No one can know what you want for yourself out of life but you, and you will get what you want out of life only, if you have a clear mind of exactly what it is you wish to achieve.

So go ahead and get out a sheet of paper, and then make a list out of all the things you would like and dislike, in a relationship. Now how about doing another list for a job? Things that you would consider for example, in a relationship or in a job are up to you. This is your life, be sure to put the things you would like in a relationship on one side of the sheet and the things you wouldn’t want in a relationship on the other. Now do the same with a job, write the things you would like to have in a job on one side and the things you would not want on the other.

You may be surprised to find out that you are barely starting to know yourself! This simple exercise is the barely the beginning of learning to know oneself!

What it Takes to Achieve Success in Life

Much has been made, about just what success means in life. The truth is success means different things to different people. In other words, not everyone see’s success in life in the same exact way, however, one thing is certain and that is that all success begins within the human mind. It all begins with a burning desire to have or achieve something that one desire’s to have. This is nothing new, as we do these kinds of activities every day. Most people in the world eat some kind of breakfast, take a shower, tie their shoes, comb their hair, etc.  And they do this almost unconsciously.  But, how many people do you know that consciously deliberately set goals for themselves and achieve them? Not many huh? Unfortunately, many of us drift aimlessly through life doing the same boring routines over and over like little hamsters on wheels. The one true way to achieve success in whatever area of life you wish to succeed in, is to set a written goal, make a plan to achieve it, measure and keep track of your progress, and then work upon it until, you get it done!
